The Newcastle Knights have endured some hard times over the past ten years. Wooden spoons, countless owners and coaches have resulted in poor performances on the field.
Last year, the team came under new management. With a strong, uncompromising vision to turn the entire organisation around: return glory to the once unstoppable club, by focusing on the future.
We were tasked with bringing this new vision to life in the form of a brand-new logo. It hadn’t been changed in many years, and we needed to make sure we kept past, present and future fans in mind.
We launched our new logo, one where the defiant Knight was looking forward, encompassing the organisations hunger to bring pride, respect and success back to the region. We dropped the ‘Newcastle’ from the logo as The Knights are worshipped all up and down the East Coast and we wanted to pay respect to our extended fan base.
We produced an online film to coincide with the release of the logo that starred Knights players past and present that explain the change to the fans.
