UrbanGrowth NSW was tasked with delivering a range of projects designed to boost economic activity that involved consultation, education and information to the community about major projects within the NSW Government’s Newcastle Urban Transformation and Transport Program (NUTTP).
For four years Enigma has worked with UrbanGrowth NSW to roll-out key components. Each of these projects involved keeping the community and media well informed, and to keep firm control of the messaging.
Over four years Enigma worked with the UrbanGrowth NSW team to deliver a range of projects including:
A two-month community engagement program to seek views and ideas from the community about the NUTTP.
Conducted 3 x focus groups to determine people’s preference for the Newcastle Light Rail route.
A community education and consultation campaign about a $400 million high rise development in Newcastle’s East End.
Helped execute the Call for Great Ideas, a program where business groups from all over the world were encouraged to submit ideas for the transformation of The Bays Precinct in Sydney.
The second stage of consultation and information about the NUTTP, with a focus on future uses for the disused heavy rail line.
A community information campaign around the revised Development Application for the East End project.
The projects were delivered by an experienced Enigma team working very closely with UrbanGrowth NSW. The projects were highly controversial while at the same time engaging record numbers of people and businesses in Government consultation projects. This attracted widespread positive commentary from business and community. Investment in Newcastle is booming because the consultation and engagement around these renewal projects produced definitive results that gave the Government a mandate to proceed with transformation.
