Lisa Sutton Gardner

Founder | Director

Lisa has a passion for building brands and developing long lasting partnerships in the process. Lisa is considered a trusted advisor to many CEOs, and is respected for her hands-on approach in the boardroom. Lisa excels in solving business problems and lends her advice and expertise to all clients in the Enigma stable. Her business philosophy can be summed up as follows: “you have two ears and one mouth. Use accordingly”.

Justin Ladmore

Managing Director | Media

Justin has worked at some of Australia’s largest media agencies and loves the science behind media planning and understands the nexus between old media and emerging technologies and how they integrate. At Enigma, he has all the same media tools as the larger global agencies but more time to use them properly. 18-years ago, Justin fell into advertising. After studying a food tech degree, he took his food biology stacked resume to what he thought was a McCains interview. It was actually for McCann’s (McCann Erickson Advertising). He got the job.

Peter Chapman

Managing Director | Advertising

Peter (Chappy) loves the comms game because it’s where art meets commerce to drive results. Having worked at some of Australia’s most awarded agencies, Peter brings energy, enthusiasm and the experience of working on multi-national brands to the Enigma team. He believes creativity can exponentially help businesses gain bottom line advantage over their competitors. Before joining Enigma, Peter worked for global agencies JWT and Clemenger BBDO and is an alumni of STW’s emerging leaders program and JWT’s global Leaders Circle program and currently serves on the external advisory board, marketing, at the University of Newcastle.

Lee Valentine

Group Executive Director | Brand

Lee is one of Australia’s most experienced property marketers. Throughout his career, Lee has worked hard to create recognisable landmarks and destinations. From master-planned communities to commercial developments, new mixed- use precincts, even cities, he is heartfelt about the role brand can play in creating meaningful, successful places. Lee has worked with major Australian and international asset owners, developers and local councils such as Lendlease, Mirvac, GPT, Frasers Property, City of Parramatta and Penrith City Council. In Lee’s downtime, he loves to entertain friends and family.

Brett Lavering

Group Executive Director | PR

Over Brett’s extensive more than 30-year career in media and communications he has worked as a journalist, chief of staff, news producer and presenter, working for Channel 10, the Seven Network and Prime Television. During his time at Enigma Brett has worked on clients such as Newcastle City Council, The Anglican Church, Telstra, Mirvac, UrbanGrowth NSW, ARTC, Glencore, NSW Minerals Council, Keolis Downer and Hunter Health and SuperCars, developing media and communications strategies, event management and media training. When Brett’s son was born it was front page news in Newcastle.

Peter Ogden

Executive Creative Director

Pete has loved creativity ever since he was taught by his grandfather to paint and draw. As soon as he could, he put that skill to good use as an art director at BBDO and Bates in London. In 2008, after 10 years at DDB Sydney, he moved further down under to JWT New Zealand, where he became Executive Creative Director. As a creative, he has won awards and been a finalist at D&AD, Cannes, One Show, Clio and AWARD. As a creative director, he has helped his agencies win major awards at Cannes, Spikes Asia, AWARD and Clio.

James Leatherbarrow

Director of Finance and Operations

James is an extensively experienced Operations and Finance professional with more than 20 years of experience. He began his career in the banking industry before an 11-year stint with Hill + Knowlton, ultimately reaching Finance Director. He the became the CFO and HR Director at Edelman Australia. James has a track record of driving effective change, developing and implementing new policies, procedures, systems and governance relating to Accounting, Compliance, Human Resources and Operations. In his spare time, James is also the Honorary Consul General of Sweden in NSW.

Kim Sweetnam

Group Director – Corporate PR

Kim has worked in Corporate Communications for 30 years, 10 of those years in the media as a journalist and newspaper editor. Kim manages a national client base including Sydney-based organisations Transport for NSW, TrainLink, City of Parramatta Council and Sydney Olympic Park Authority. Kim has experience working in the finance sector with financial institutions and chartered accountancy firms. With a background in journalism, Kim’s specialty is content, and understanding how to develop content for specific audiences. In her spare time Kim manages a junior AFL club.
